South Dalmatian Islands Route for Middle Age Couples
For groups traveling without kids inside only 3 things matter:
- Good Food
- Good Wine & Cold Beer
- Amazing places to visit
- Comfortable Accommodation
This itinerary is a perfect mixture of all 4.
The best part about the Gulet Cruise holidays is that the routes are flexible. If you wish to stay at some place for more days or if you do not like some town, you can just change it with the captain and go to next bay, place…
To make it simple, here are some of the places you will experience.
This is not a day – by day route description. It is merely an example of the places you can see inside a single week. All the places are put here with consideration of 4 points mentioned above.
You can start the cruise in Trogir
The historic town with 2300 years of continuous urban tradition. It is culture was created under the influence of old Greeks, Romans, and Venetians. Trogir has a high concentration of palaces, churches, and towers and in 1997 was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Or you can arrange the embarking procedure and escape from Trogir to one quiet bay nearby.
Food In Croatia
Wherever the gulet takes you – the good and will be your companion. Fresh fish, fresh vegetables, local dishes, and amazing sweets are always highlights on gulet ships.
The only thing which is better than GOOD FOOD – is the food with a sea view in a nice isolated bay away from all the masses.
Šolta
The first stop can be on island Šolta. It is a calm, easy-going and perfect place where you will be able to relax after the long trip to Croatia.
Vis
One of the main highlights of this itinerary is Island Vis.
Here are a couple of things you can check & see if the weather allows it:
- Main Town – Port Vis (take a walk, have a nice dinner, grab a beer & take it easy)
- Blue cave – One of the most famous natural beauties in Croatia
- You can check Military Base on Vis (Super interesting)
- You can check less know but maybe even nicer Green Cave
- Or Visit Stiniva Bay…
Hvar
When you check Vis out – Next Stop is Island Hvar. Your drop and anchor around Pakleni Islands. In the evening you check world-famous Hvar Town.
As city Hvar during the evenings and nights turns into a party place our advice is to overnight in Starigrad (Hvar Island) and have a quiet night sleep.
Starigrad is just 18 km from city Hvar and you can take a taxi to catch the Hvar and return back to Starigrad. Most of the clients really like this option. Also, Stari Grad is very nice.
Wanna try out some amazing vines? Then a trip to St. Nedelja is a “must-have” trip.
Vis as well as Hvar both offer lots of options for Wine Tasting and land trips and if you are all about “hedonism” and having an amazing experience – we can truly make a combination of gulet cruise & land trips where you will max out on your experience.
Brač
What is next? We would say Island Brač.
Pučišća is the center of stone extraction and cutting industry. Town symbol is stone, the white Brač stone. Pučišća has a stone-mason’s school which is the only of type in Croatia and continues the stone-mason’s tradition. It is very interesting to visit the school and see what they are made from stone.
- Golden Cape on Island Brač – One of the most amazing beaches in the World
- Bol town – more wine routes and land trips possible
- Drvenik – not on island Brač but nice village to visit also
What's next?
The decision on the itinerary is just 50% of the story. Not all gulets can do this itinerary the same. Some gulet owners prefer to say in ports. Some gulet owners like to stay on anchor. Some gulet owners have world-class chefs while others have very broad wine list on board.
To make your holidays perfect here is what we should do:
- determine your exact wishes and expectations
- determine which gulets (and their crew) can make you super happy with the combination of this itinerary
- determine how to organize food & drinks on board – and combine it with extra activities you will LOVE.
