Gulet Dolin Testimonials. What other think of this gulet.
Check out some of the testimonials from clients that cruised on Gulet Dolin. Maybe they will give you a better idea if this is the right gulet for you.
I can personally say that the owner (Ivica) is one of the best people and captains in Croatia and that I personally enjoyed a cruise on this ship for 7 days with my family.
And I loved it.
Here is what some of our clients were saying
Catherine Lamour and Jean Labib (France /PARIS)
We were a group of 8 people on the Dolin boat from August 4 to August 11, 2012, starting from Trogir to the north. We had a wonderful time because the captain., Mr Benic, was very open minded about where to go and where to stop for a nice swim or a beautiful landscape , and was giving us all appropriate and interesting informations about our environment.
He was proposing , and hearing our requests : this is a good change from renting boats in Turkey where we found the crews stubborn and spoiled with the overwhelming number of customers. We also liked the DOLIN a lot , because the size of the boat allows to move or stop easily in clear waters , not far from the coast. Moreover, the food was delicious.
We warmly recommend this boat , and his very pleasant crew. We hope to be back for a new cruise on the Dolin.

Hi Mitja
our response. We had a wonderful week on the Gulet Dolin , everyone agreed it was the experience of a lifetime and we will be recommending it to our friends in New Zealand and Australia. Ivica was passionate and very professional about his boat and country and was always informative about each day and any guest questions
best regards

We had very good contact with the staff and the captain is very flexible and attentive to our wishes; it was the perfect journey for us.
Adriaan De Kauster (Belgium)
We’ve had a beautiful holiday on the Dolin with John, Mike and the cook (I forgot his name). The food was really delicious, the program was very good. We saw a lot of different things like the Kornati Islands, several beautiful villages, waterfalls and we amused ourselves like children in the water ;-). It is certainly a project that we would love to organise for the next summer.

The rooms are very spacious for a boat. Obviously, the standard of cabins isn’t luxury but that wasn’t what we wanted or paid for so no problem with the standard of cabins. In fact, they could take more appealing photos of the interior because the photos make the cabins look worse than they really are. The sun beds are fantastic and so is the dining area. The Captain, Vito, Damir were lovely. They made it a pleasure – really lovely and not intrusive in anyway. The ony comment I would make about the martketing is it says a waiter on the brochure which meant we sort of expected Damir to be making drinks during the day but that wasn’t the case. No problem with that but just good to be clear on what the role of a waiter is. Overall, really lovely.
However, overall it was excellent value for money, the quality of the food was out of this world – we’re still talking about those sauces. The crew were lovely and we would definitely recommend Gulet Dolin again.

Sorry for the delayed response, I was going to write a testimonial upon return but I’m still to get around to it. Firstly, I think I speak on behalf of all our group of nine that the Dolin Gulet was a fantastic trip, that complemented Croatia’s scenery and climate perfectly. The crew, Johnny (skipper), Mike (deckhand) and Schvenko (Chef), were ideal for our group (9 people, a mix of couples and singles in our late 20’s). They communicated well, shared a drink at times, and provided us with information about each town / island we visited. They were also always having a good time, and therefore made it more comfortable for the guests to integrate and relax. I hope this assists with advertising Dolin, our group of friends still talk about it.
Anything further please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Everything was GREAT! We really loved it and wished we could have sailed for longer and are really trying to put together another trip for next year. The food was amazing…I think we all gained quite a bit of weight. The cook was very accommodating…even doing separate gluten free pastas for a few of us for each meal. The crew are fantastic. The captain is very flexible…as we were not really sure if we wanted to be more in ports or out at harbors each night, he was able to change up the plan for us as we needed. Everyone was very nice and the perfect balance of being there when you needed them but also leaving you to relax on your own. The trip definitely exceeded all of our expectations and we have been recommending gulet cruises to all of our friends! I hope to be in Turkey at some point next summer and am considering doing the same there. Although, if we get another group together for Croatia, we would love to do the lower Dalmatian Islands that we missed on this trip. So, we’ll see what happens.
I will certainly keep you posted if we need to book anything!
Thanks.
Kate
Hi Andrej, here is some feedback for you regarding Dolin and the crew:“Our family and friends have just returned home to the four corners of the world having met in Croatia on gulet Dolin to celebrate my husband’s 30th birthday. What a lovely, unspoilt part of the world!
We have spent many years working in the Mediterranean and Caribbean aboard yachts but the sights of the small towns and natural beauty of the coastline was some of the most beautiful we have seen. Our trip was made especially memorable thanks to the crew, all of whom worked very hard to make our trip special. The food was out of this world and such that none of us could resist second and sometimes third helpings! We hope to return to Dolin again in the future to further explore the wonderful Adriatic area.”
It really was a great trip despite the sometimes cold and rainy weather we experienced. It seems poor Europe is having a delayed summer this year!
Thanks for helping to organise everything and let me know if you would like any other information from me or my family about the trip.
Kind Regards
Tobia
Thanks, Andrej for your note, happy to provide feedback.
1 – Overall, everything worked out well and we all had a great time.
2 – From the organizational standpoint (reservation, logistical details, etc.) everything went smoothly.
3 – The Captain was great, and he and the crew worked very hard to accommodate all of our requests, within the boundaries of what safety and his experience suggested from time to time, and they all created a very pleasant atmosphere on board.
4 – The gulet met our expectation in terms of comfort, style and safety.
5 – As the Captain is aware, service on board might benefit from having a person more intensely dedicated to housekeeping matters.
6 – In any event, we think we got good value for our money and would use (and recommend) Goolets again, no hesitation!
Thanks again for your help, look forward to the next trip!
Best regards

Dear Mitja, Andrej and the rest of the Goolets teamHedy Lamarr once said “I’ve met the most interesting people while flying or on a boat. These methods of travel seem to attract the kind of people I want to be with”. These words cannot be more true about our Guilette holiday in beautiful Croatia.
From the punctual agent that met us at the apartment to ensure we meet up with the taxi man, right down to the chef on the Gulet were all wonderful (and with this please know that we include the friendly taxi man that transported us from Split to Trogir, and back again from Zadar to Split). The route captain Ivica (or Captain John as the three boys called him) decided on for our Guilette trip was exactly what we had in mind. The spots he chose for us to swim, or snorkel, or have lunch, or moor for the evening were spot-on and memorable. The stories and knowledge on Croatia the islands and nature, of Ivica and Danko was interesting and will stay with us always. They even took the three boys squid catching in the evening and the three tell all their friends about their experience. Danko also hit a cord with the three teenagers with their mutual interest in fishing. With this we now reach the chef and his castle (the kitchen). Fresh produce, bread baking in the oven filling the boat with a mouth-watering aroma, pancakes, fresh fish oven baked that slide off the bones, soups and pastas, squid, oysters and mussels (even the three boys could not resist to empty every shell in the bowl), meat so tasty we photographed the dish like crazy people.. what a total delight! If reaching home with an extra few kilograms is something to complaint about, this will be it from our side. But the extra kilograms also hold the memories, so Tonci, we proudly start gym-ing again now that we are back home.
We thank you Ivica, Danko and Tonci for our wonderful introduction to Croatia. We will tell all our friends about your special country, and you can rest assured we will most certainly recommend you to everybody we know. And if we have the privilege to visit Croatia again, you (Goolets) will be the first to know.
Kind regards
Shain Kurelja
Hi Nicole and Andrej,
Before the memory of our beautiful Croatian Holiday fades I wanted to get a few notes down for your records. We all thoroughly enjoyed our week on ‘Dolin’. It was an experience that we will never forget. I guess you get the term ‘experience of a life-time’ thrown around a lot in your line of work, but I can’t think of anything more appropriate to say here. It was so wonderful.
As a family, Dolin was the perfect boat for us. The word I would best use is comfortable. The word comfortable is often used in place of adequate and yes Dolin is adequate, but she is so much more. By comfortable here, I mean familiar and relaxing. Like a family holiday home that has been in the family for years. A place you love to go to. However, she is so much better than a home, because she can move from one beautiful place to the next. Each seemingly more picturesque than the one before. She is not so luxurious, but she is generous in room and comfort. With children, this was so much more important than luxury. We did not have to worry about children damaging things or getting underfoot, there was room for everyone and room to spare. If you wanted some time alone, there would be somehow a spot you could find for some peace and quiet. Something usually quite difficult on a boat.
If Dolin is the home, the crew are her heart and soul. The reason we could feel so at home on this boat is because of the welcome we received from the crew. We were greeted in such a friendly, but professional way. Our every wish was granted, nothing was to much trouble. Ivica the captain could not do enough to make sure we were happy. The food was simply outstanding. Plenty of high quality Dalmatian food for everyone. The flavour was just amazing. Umberto the chef worked very long days ensuring our meals were perfect. Seafood, Veal, Chicken, Beef, Pasta even the vegetables were mouthwatering. If we left food behind it was only because the quantities served were so generous. Umberto is a master in the kitchen and breakfast, lunches and dinners are not to be missed.
The Dalmatian coast is surely God’s finest work of creation. The people who live on the islands are the luckiest in the world. Ivica masterfully planned our route to impress us a little more with each new destination that we visited. He would gather information from us slowly, getting more of an understanding of what would be our perfect trip. He is so attentive he would be able to tailor a trip to anyone’s tastes. Our priority was relaxing and enjoying the lifestyle and that is exactly what we got to do. The weather was perfect, the water warm, the people are so friendly and the lifestyle is relaxed. I work in a stressful job, like a lot of people, and I have never had a holiday where I have felt so relaxed, so appreciative of life, love and most importantly family. We as a family loved every minute. The swimming, the sightseeing, the eating, the drinking, the sleeping, the reading, the card-playing,the sun soaking hours spent on the day beds and the sound of both children and adults laughing. Heaven on Earth. I think that sharing this experience has made us closer as a family. We understand that we have what is important in life in each other and the world around us. We just need to slow down and work on ‘Dalmatian time’ to enjoy life and each other.
Thank you for recommending ‘Dolin’ to us. We have told many people of our experience and our Facebook photos have created much fuss and interest from our family and friends. I have said many words of praise to friends and now I this correspondence, but the highest honour we can pay Ivica and ‘Dolin’ is a guarantee to come back. We have started saving already and simply cannot wait to get back to our mobile ‘holiday home’.
Thank you somehow does not seem enough. You have changed our lives for the better!
