Big dreams of one father and son - how it all started 50 years ago
First, we will discover an interesting story about how it all started and how this gulet developed in such good quality luxury gulet yacht with one of the best services on board. The story goes back 50 years ago when the family started a business with Captain Ahmet Cevik’s father and his uncle in the ’60s when Ahmet was only 6 years old…
Back then they owned a small boat called ”tirandil” that was used for sea sponge diving, but his father was determined to improve his business and he had big dreams. With such strong determination, he remodelled the existing boat and it became the first modern crewed yacht in Marmaris! For such an era it was a very nice boat.
However, the story of the Derin Deniz boat starts in 2008. It started with modern luxurious renovation and adaptation of the traditional Turkish gulet the captain’s family has been sailing for generations. The quality design was achieved with Turkish captain collaboration and partnership with Swiss interior architect who transformed the traditional Turkish gulet into a luxury yacht.
After that venture, Derin Deniz was equipped with the most sophisticated up-to-date technology and designed to please almost everyone looking for an unforgettable dream-like cruise experience.

The captain and owner, Ahmet has 24 years of experience and will guarantee you have a fantastic time onboard and get the most out of sailing possibilities. However, you have to be aware that sailing with this gulet and gulets in general highly depends on weather conditions! So if there is no wind on someday, you won’t be able to sail.
The fact is gulets are quite big boats and they need much stronger wind than let’s say, 40 feet sailing yachts. We are of course very sorry if the unfortunate weather happens, but you shouldn’t spend too much time stressing over it and plan some other activities instead.
